Judge Roy Bean Public House Reviews

We tried the JRB while in NYC for a show at RCMH. We ordered the nachos which were good. The chips were a little oily, but we enjoyed them. The JRB burger was excellent! Perfectly cooked and very flavorful! My wife had the blueberry lemonade which she enjoyed and I had the Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale which was amazing! I actually had two! The service was okay. They didn't remove our dishes from our appetizer, even after bringing our burgers, so we put them on an adjacent unused table. They don't offer any desserts which was a little disappointing. The ambience was good. Total pub vibe. Very narrow, to be expected in NYC. We were happy overall. We will definitely return if we visit NYC again.

In the mood for pub food, then this is a place for you. On this very cold January Monday, we were looking for good pub food with a relaxed, chill vibe. And upon entry I knew my fellow Yelpers had not let us down. Good food, good service & a good NYC Irish pub. My fish n' chips were fresh and yummy; I would have liked it if it were a wee bit crispier but the freshness of the fish made it worth my while; my husband's burger was huge and delicious but messy...lol! Coupled with a Sam Adams pint beer, the meals were satisfying and complete.

Awesome pub. Burger was great and my husband loved the fish and chips. Service was on point. Good beer selection including non-alcoholic Guinness which made my night. Definitely a fun place to stop.

Had the greatest experience the moment we walked thru the door. Sonya created us and was very engaging. We got a table right away. Food was delicious. Fish fry and the JRB burger was amazing. Perfect! I felt like I had been there before and it was my first time! Go if you're in the neighborhood!

Was pleasantly surprised by the food here. Everything was fresh and served lovely and hot. The veggie burger seemed to be homemade too, packed with mushrooms. Fries were great as were the pickles! Lovely waitress too!

Looking for a last minute lunch spot & we ended up here, no rsvp necessary & if you arrive before your party they will sit you. Drinks, we kept it simple with Coke, Sprite & Ginger ale, not bad. On the appetizers , we had Mozzarella sticks they were very good , good size & really good Mac & cheese bites. I had the Grilled chicken sandwich comes with fries the apples in the sandwich surprised me? Only because I am not a huge fan of fruit in the food all depends of course but it worked well with this sandwich it was very tasty. Friends had Grilled Cheese & Buffalo chicken burger, they both enjoyed their sandwich. Small location , decent bar area upfront seating towards the back a bit small but it was good. Although our waitress didn't ask if we wanted drink refills, seemed like she was alone , service overall was not bad. Decent price, we enjoyed our lunch.

Very good midtown pub on West side Manhattan. It's a small place with dim lighting typical for a pub. Small bar with seating in back of restaurant. Fast service walking into the place. We ordered the steak egg rolls and JRB Club Sandwich. We enjoyed both of our meals. They make a good espresso martini by my GF report. I ordered a Guinness pint.

I was a big fan of Judge Roy Bean. We stopped for lunch on a Saturday. I was surprised that it was fairly empty. We were able to grab an outside table. Our server was very friendly and attentive. I ordered a salad with salmon. Others in our party ordered the veggie burger, caesar salad and chicken fingers. Everything was really good and reasonably priced. Most of the reviews said everything was quick but I found it actually took quite some time for our food to come out. That was my only negative. Everything else was great and I would definitely stop to eat here again.

Love this place. It has a Great local pub vibe with good food to boot. This is my second time here this week while I'm in New York on business. They offer Old Speckled Hen ale and number of other styles of beers. They also have a fantastic array of Scotches and Whiskeys and much more. The food options are mostly bar foods but they are really good. I've had the potato skins, the chicken Parm sliders and the fish and chips. All were great. I held off of giving 5 stars for a few relatively minor issues. I wish they had a slightly bigger selection of beers. They should have at least 4+ IPA's and several other popular brands. It can be really hard to get a seat. The other things are too minor to mention but all in all, it's a wonderful place to eat, drink and just have a fun time. I will definitely be back.
